On the heels of their scorching hot new release, Electrified Brain, Richmond, Virginia thrash party legends, Municipal Waste, headlined this year’s Wrecking Ball Metal Fest in Dallas, Texas. Hosted by DFW heavyweights, Frozen Soul, this one-day festival was jammed packed with some of the heaviest and most in demand bands that the music scene has to offer; Creeping Death, Malignant Altar, Tribal Gaze, Fugitive, 200 Stab Wounds, Sanguisugabogg, No/Mas, Undeath, Vomit Forth and Intoxicated. It was going to be a heavy day indeed.
Starting at 2:30pm, 9 of the 13 bands would get 20-minute sets to deliver a beat down to fans that packed into the Echo Lounge & Music Hall. Orlando thrashers, Intoxicated, harnessed they’re inner Slayer and jump started a pit that would only slow down during the set changes. Next up would a sonic assault from Washing, D.C. death grinders, No/Mas. An infectious sound that grabs you by the throat and before head-butting you in the face.
