Tonight’s event was hosted by Another Mavericks Production - the event planning side of the Dallas Mavericks. The Mavericks??? Yeah the Mavericks! The team’s owner, Mark Cuban, already knows what it takes to build a championship caliber franchise but who knew he held the key to hottest party in town? Well, from the packed house at The Bomb Factory on Tuesday night I’d say that a few thousand were in the know. The beats were bumpin’, the Mavs ManiAAcs were in the house and with the neon sunglasses and beads that flashed like mini strobe lights it was like a New Year’s Eve party at a Mavs game. But what you need to bring it life is some top notch music and Mr. Cuban took care of that.
Some of Dallas’ freshest were on hand to open the night with Cure For Paranoia, Bobby Sessions and -Topic. For me Bobby Sessions stole the opening slot, with his command of the stage, the gritty, street vibe rhymes spit at your dome against he laid back, percussion & jazz-driven beats. Not only was he reppin’ his latest album – LOA (Laws of Attraction) – but he made sure the crowd repeated those 3 letters with him throughout the set. And why so important? As he explained, law of attraction is anything you can see in your mind, you can hold in your hand. Tonight was the realization of this as he told how a simple tweet from Mark Cuban about him when he was starting out has now brought him to a night of being on stage at a show hosted by Cuban. LOA!
